Welcome to my Just Because Jewelry site. I am proud to offer my collection of handmade bead jewelry, including necklaces, earrings, bracelets and anklets to you.
My ever-changing creations are thoughtfully built using semiprecious gemstones, Swarovski crystals, glass beads, Hill Tribe and Bali silver components, and sterling silver. My sister even provided me a small supply of Venetian glass beads that she trekked back from Italy on a recent trip, and my mom brought back some darling glass beads from a trip to Paris.
I attended a fine arts university and earned my bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts (Communications and PR). For nearly 20 years, I have worked full time in industries ranging from advertising to employee performance to development to financial services. I have a theatre and performance background and have a great appreciation for the fine arts. I also have two daughters – budding performers in their own rights – an amazing man who supports my endeavors, and two bonus sons, all who keep me quite busy.
Perhaps because of the nature of my jobs to this point, attire and accessories have been important to me. So it’s only natural that I have a great appreciation for both fine and fashion jewelry, an appreciation that spans two decades.
Designing jewelry has evolved into an activity that I thoroughly enjoy and happily obsess about. Here’s how things began for Just Because: What started out as a lovely diversion for my then 15- and 12-year-old daughters during the summer vacation months turned into a passion for me. I started out slowly, making beautiful pieces for myself, and eventually began to wear my newly fashioned jewelry to work. Soon, people were complimenting me on the pieces and when I thanked them and explained that I had made each piece, the next question was, “Are you selling it?”
Selling it? Uh, no. I was having such a great time bringing my ideas to life for me that I didn’t stop to think that maybe others would enjoy my jewelry too. Hmm … well, not one to just walk away from an idea, I decided I’d make up a few more items and bring them into the office to see what kind of response I got.
What I got was an overwhelming response. My co-workers began commissioning work from me, and slowly, word began filtering out about my jewelry. During this time the Just Because name was borne from conversations with a friend about what I was doing with the jewelry, and how it’s so nice to have ‘just because’ jewelry – you know, the kind of jewelry you don’t really need a reason for having, but having any reason will always do.
And so I began to build my little nook, and I continued to expand my client base and my inventory. What I know for sure is that the jewelry is attractive in its simplicity and that as long as people get excited when they see it, I’ll keep on bringing the best I have to offer to the table.
Thank you for reading my story and visiting my site. Please feel free to drop me a note if you enjoy the site, or if I can help answer any questions about my pieces.
